2017 Ottawa House Hunt Event Converges on Kanata Entertainment Centrum

Annual scavenger hunt earns winner $15,000 towards the purchase of a home

Ottawa, March 2017— The 2017 Ottawa House Hunt Event will take place at the Kanata Entertainment Centrum on Saturday, May 13, 2017. This year’s event will definitely build on the momentum of a very successful inaugural one last year. The day promises to be a most enjoyable one as teams of two embark on the hour long scavenger hunt around the Centrum area. The winning tandem will collect the $15,000 grand prize which must be used towards purchasing a home. All of the event net proceeds raised will go towards sending kids to summer camp through the SENS Foundation Campership program.

The event is the brainchild of two friends, Colleen Lyle, Broker & Team Lead – Colleen Lyle Real Estate Team, Keller Williams Integrity Brokerage and Sue Hameed, Mortgage Broker and co-owner of Platinum Mortgages Ottawa. Both Colleen and Sue came up with the idea to partner on this one of a kind event, it was their combined passion and excitement and a keen sense of giving back that sealed the deal. Lyle anticipates another outstanding event. “We’re thrilled to be hosting our second annual House Hunt event, we think it’s a fun way to bring people together to compete for a very significant prize.” Both Lyle and Hameed not only bring a wealth of knowledge in with their real-estate backgrounds but also pride themselves in giving back to the community. Hameed adds, “The fact that someone can win that kind of money and that we’re also raising funds to send underprivileged kids to camp makes it a huge win-win for everyone.”

This year’s participants will congregate at 3 Brewers (565 Kanata Avenue) which is the official registration headquarters for the House Hunt. Registration/Check-in is from 1:00-2:00pm with the actual scavenger hunt taking place from 2:00pm-3:00pm.

The funds raised will support the SENS Campership Program which will enable more than 1,600 children and youth, aged 4 to 17, from 36 communities in eastern Ontario and 10 communities in western Quebec to attend camp this summer over a 5 to 12 day session.
